The
purpose of the Symphony is to encourage
the development of new products made of
resources taken from the waters of Alaska.
Innovation and new thinking are the
desired outcomes. Winners of the Symphony
are given several opportunities to promote
their products and through these
promotional activities, continue to
support Alaska seafood. The success of
Alaska seafood products not only affects
the seafood business, but companies doing
business with the fishing industry such as
transporters of people and products,
shipyards, insurers, banks, law firms and
many more. In order
to hold these important events, AFDF must
have support from not only the fishing
industries, but also other industry
supporters. Sponsorship entitles
supporters to promotional opportunities
not only in Alaska, but also in Chicago.

For the past 15 years AFDF, in partnership with other industry supporters, has sponsored this event which is vital to the evaluation and introduction of new Alaska seafood products. On January 23, 2008, the Symphony will hold the New Products Contest and Open House in Seattle. In addition to the events in Seattle, we will hold the Gala Soirée and Awards Ceremony in Anchorage on January 31, 2008.
